Dash chime?
What is the purpose of the 6 dings when the key is turned on? 99% of the time i wait for the glow plug light to go out. Recent I've waited for the chimes to stop. No noticeable difference in anything.

You're right. If my seatbelt is fastened first, then turn the key on it will not ding at all.
That settles it, it is a seatbelt reminder dinger.
