Why the hassle and expense of using adapters with a 351C manifold when a Weiand 8010 for the 351M/400 should do just fine?
I have Rhino77's truck here. He had Procomp heads on the 351M. Not even the Weiand intake will work with Procomp heads. Advertising states you must use a ProComp intake with these heads. I set the Edelbrock intake on it with the end gaskets in place and a good 1/4" of port stuck up above the intake. So just a warning to anyone contemplating upgrading to aftermarket heads, Procomps aren't what you want on a 400
AND I take it pro comp doesn't make a manifold for a 351M400...…..
I haven't looked but I'd bet the answer is no. They don't have a website to even look up the heads. Only heads I found were on ebay. We're going back with the stock heads and a Summit 5200 cam topped with the Edelbrock intake he has.
Update: It's alive and well. Summit cam broken in. Stock Cleveland heads back on (nope they're not the M heads, one 71 head, one 74 head) Sounds mean as hell. But I'm going to tweak the timing and carb to see if that'll perk it up some more. The 351M pistons don't sit as far down as I'd a thought, they're almost zero deck. Motor's been rebuilt with O.E style 40 over pistons, which wouldn't have worked with that cam and those heads. Woulda been a noisy sumbitch had they ever got it started with the pistons kissin the valves.
