I have a 2001 f250 with the original headlights. Needless to say they are fogged over. I've been looking around on Amazon and Ebay for a new LED setup but I have not seen any that had high reviews. I'm looking for recommendations from some of you that have made the change and are happy with them. I dont want to buy junk. Thanks in advance.
I purchased mine from Clay, a little pricy compared to eBay but worth the assurance they would not leak.
Installed them after cutting away some of the OEM plastic surrounding the original lights, not complicated just a little tedious. Very nice results.
I went with the 05-07 headlight and conversion pigtail (purchased from Riff-Raff) setup last fall. They are not LED but worked out very well for me. More light than my fogged originals for sure. Ford part also so if they need to be replaced should be able to get them almost anywhere.
Only down side to me was having to cut up the buckets for them to mount. Not hard work but once you make the cuts you cant go backwards.

Sounds like everyone has to cut out plastic to make these fit. Are there no plug and play out there? I would like LED but, would I be better to just buy new OEM Lens and buy better bulbs?
02-04 housing's will be better than 99-01. $20 on rock auto. Eagle eyes with a bead of silicone and I'm leak-free for 3 years now. I'm a fan of Clay's, though. I'm just a weird one not liking the 05-07 style myself. The bulbs I have leave a lot to be desired, though. I'm debating on Philip's xtreme vision in my 02+ housings or doing what Colorado350 did. I've tried to do my research on a good LED bulb but everything I seem to come across doesnt work well in housings not made for LED. I dont want to he that A hole who brights everyone on low beam.

The Diamond Clear 02-04 housing, throw some Phiiilp's Extra Vision (or whatever it is) and add a the aftermarket headlight wiring harness that allows full voltage to get to the bulbs. https://www.painlessperformance.com/wc/30816

This is exactly what I did and am happy with the results. If I were going to change the Phillip's Xtreme Vision, 02 housing and relay harnesses out at this point, I would only go with Morimoto HID retro kit.
The OEM replacement 02-04 ones aren't cheap but are probably the best. You can find off branded ones that only run $40-50 each but they are not quite built as sturdy. I put a pair of those on my Mom's early 99 and one of the bulb caps fell off.
Riff raff also sells the 05-07 OEM lights for a pretty good price but unfortunately they don't bolt right into place. There is some cutting and banging involved. Personally I think the way to go is to convert to the old school 200mm housings the XL's came standard with. Lots of options there for actually getting headlamps that work better.
