Oh, that's bad! Can a dealership clear this up using the VIN? I sure would ask because they have access to data bases the rest of us can only dream about!
Perhaps your experience should be a warning to the rest of us to note the information on the various service tags in our owner's manuals and/or another safe location!

Ate **** into the woods one day when I was acting a little squirrely and bent the drivers rear axle. It was strange because it's the one with 9.75 rear but uses 8.8 axles had no idea what I was dealing with so 45 to an hour with a parts guy and the vin he finally found what axle I needed.
