Hp Question

My question is that, if one changes the intake manifolds on the engine, 302 on my baby, would the Hp change at all??

Yes, a high performance intake manifold such as the one edelbrock makes would create more power especially when combined with other intake mods such as K&N, etc.

How much though. I already have the K&N intake, plus bigger trottle body and spacer....How much a Intake Manifold would increase?

If you play around with engine mods that severly change the airflow, your speed density computer will not be able to see compensate and you will have a crappy idle and powerband.

So if i change the airflow, should i also make changes to the ignition (more spark)? What about the Speed Density sensor??

Converting to Mass Air is one option to help with later mods.

Mass Air has a meter in your intake tube that actually measures how much air is entering your engine. Speed Density uses various pressure sensors and "guesses" how much air is in your engine from a predetermined database in the ECU based on the sensor readings.

The Edelbrock intake and respective throttle bodies along with K&N filter(s) are rarely enough to mess with the speed density computer. Speed density doens't like things like bigger cams and valves or changes in combustion chamber volume. For the most part, the bolt-on HP improvement parts like the intakes and throttle bodies even when used in conjunction with headers and high flow exhaust will still run fine on a speed density equipped truck.

As for how much HP you can expect to gain with the Edelbrock intake check here: http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive/index.html
