I was driving home the other day from work when all of a sudden the truck spuddered a bit and the motor just quit. The truck is a 78 F100, 351M. I pulled the top of the air cleaner housing and seen that we are getting fuel so I assume it is the ignition system. I’m very inexperienced with the ignition system and don’t really know where to start the trouble shooting. I’ve tried looking at some threads on these types of issues but they either go off topic rather quickly or the problem was found and the thread ends. If anyone could help me diagnose this problem I’d appreciate it thanks.
Never had a problem with it before. Do you mean that the factory ignition system is not sufficient? I know that the ignition modules are known to fail at some point or another, but other than that I thought the duraspark ignition systems were pretty dependable.
