Few days ago developed a steering issue. Very soft, mushy steering to the left, all the way to the lock. Almost impossible to turn to the right, let alone all the way to the lock. Rev'ed it to over 2K, steering got softer. No real binding etc., like there was a linkage failure. Replaced the power steering pump today. New fluid, lines, etc. Still very hard turning to the right and very mushy to the left. Mad at it and myself.
Last summer did shocks, tires, and the entire front end, to include the steering gear. Had about 180 K miles on it then. The ride was shot. No problems with it since. Still rides just fine - except for the darn steering issue.
What the heck did I miss? I can't find anything in the service manual I overlooked or test that I might have misinterpreted the results of.
Grumble, grumble, swear loud, yell, scream, kick the tires, throw my tools...wimper, cry...Help!
