On the front page, the writer called this an "ugly duckling," but I love these things! Anyone have any experience with them? It's getting auctioned with a bunch of other cool Fords at Mecum at the end of the month. Check the rest of the field out here.
It is great to come across one of these vintage trucks/.vans that have been reconditioned and saved from the bone yard.
An FTE member posted this photo quite some time ago, I think it is cool and intend enlarging the picture and set in a frame, I did the same to a similar photo and a conversation piece.
Wow, a 4 speed. I'm guessing that is kind of rare. A dealership I worked at as a kid had one for a service truck. I drove it but was a 3 speed.
4 on the tree Dagenham 4 speed, optional for 1963/64 Econoline. Also optional in 1962/63 I-6 Falcon and 1965/66 Mustang. Originally installed in English Fords.
This "limey" 4 speed trans has a very distinct reverse gear whine.
Also in 64 Falcons. This one had a 170 I6 and a Dagenham in it when I got it. If I had good sense I would have restored it like it was built. But being the hot rodder at heart I traded the engine an trans to a Mustang guy for some suspension parts I needed to get 5 lug wheels an disc brakes. It got a built 5.0 and a T5 with a 3.73 locker. I got rid of it about 4 months after I finished it because it was dangerous to drive especially if there was beer involved and it was going to get me killed.
