I have a 75 F250, with a 460. I was going to just get another factory unit. But, I have been look at CRT Performance. If anyone has done this upgrade, I'm looking for help with it... what's involved to get this setup, wired in correctly and delete the dura spark.
This is the one I'd be getting, along with their 8mm wires they have and the 45,000V canister coil. It has 3 wires. What goes where and how would I go about ditching the old wires harness from the duration spark stuff.
Contrary to many BS comments commonly found in forums, they are not too bulky at all.
Once fitted, no additional bulky coil required, no ballast wire required, and just for a change, prices for them and replacement parts are nice 'n cheap.

Whether a points dizzy is used or an HEI style dizzy, they all do the same job on a street engine assuming they're dialled in correctly.
Thanks for the advice,
All of the great reviews I've read, and what I have seen in the forums. People love these dizzies.... the one I posted has a smaller cap so it will clear the factory air cleaner.
One thing I am unsure of, what coil should I get with this? They offer a 45,000v canister coil or they have a 65,000v e coil, its $5 more than the canister coil. I. Not a big fan of the canister coils.
A carb spacer could eliminate that problem.
(But could cause issues with the other filter connections.)
Just check with CRT that the e coil matches the dizzy with regards to the ohms requirements.
I have sent them several different messages on their "contact us" page. Asking questions about what setup I had and what would they recommend, But. After 3 weeks of not getting a reply. I don't think care enough to answer. I have also read in a different forum of people complaining that they never respond to tech questions.
This is the only reason I have reservations about about ordering from CRT Performance. I found this on the BBB website. I screen shot the guys complaint.
I have never had to call them so I can't speak to their CS. I do know all my units have been good and when I tried the module a GM replacement module was easy to get. I also suggest looking at their full combos with the coil.

Is this the one I would need? I was looking at a different setup. This is why I need to talk to them, they have 3 different parts and they all say Ford 460. I don't know what one I need to buy.
