Hey all, first post here. I just bought a 17' F250 Platinum. My last truck was a 99' 7.3 with a ton of modifications. I sold it in 2010 with 125k miles and sure did miss it. I'm currently patiently waiting on my 6.7 to arrive as it was purchased out of state and is being shipped to my door. My truck currently sits on 3" blocks on the front and 2" on the back with 37's. I have plans to get rid of that soon and will list upcoming modifications below.
I'm wondering what you guys' favorite mods are for these newer trucks?
My plans for the truck are the following-
4.5" suspension lift (probably Carli, but undecided at the moment).
Will delete and tune at 36k - currently has 25k miles.
Going to add on board air (Viair heavy duty) and plum a quick detach where the dpf tank currently sits this will be used for air tools, filling up tires, blowing myself off after a day at work, etc.
Considering a truck vault bed storage system similar to decked - I own a custom precision firearms business. It would be nice to have my stuff with me and not worry about it being stolen out of the cab.
Upgrade to brighter LED's in the rear
Tonneua cover (undecided on which one)
Weigh-safe Hitch on the way
Ford factory all weather mats on the way
Escort radar system being install very soon
Dee Zee tailgate assist
Cargosmart bottle opener and a couple more cheap little things. New Truck New Truck 1 New Truck 2 Old Truck
You have a Platnum so this is a non issue with your truck... but on my XLT single cab I added a rear manual sliding glass and added the tailgate strut assist.
Both were low cost upgrades that have sure been added satisfaction
I have a Lariat that didn't have a heated steering wheel. So I swapped to a Ford Raptor heated wheel, ran wiring, and got not only the heat working but also the paddle shifters. The shifters are sooooo nice to have when hauling and towing heavy in the mountains. Absolutely love it. Best mod I've ever done.
Will delete and tune at 36k - currently has 25k miles.
Curious as to why 36k? I know bumper to bumper warranty is good for 3 years 36k miles but powertrain warranty is good for 5 years / 60k miles (Diesel engine 5 years / 100k miles).
If warranty isn't a concern then why wait to delete/tune?
