I think I recall someone here posting a soldering iron fix to replace a COP bolt threaded insert in a V8 Modular motor, the 4.6 or 5.4 with plastic intake. If anyone recalls the user or subscribed to that thread I'd greatly appreciate a link.
My problem is #5 COP bolt insert has lost its grip and turns along with the COP bolt when I'm trying to remove it. If anyone has an idea how to remove the bolt I'd appreciate the advice. So far I've considered using a large enough drill bit to remove the bolt head---as I'm replacing the COP there's no worry about damaging the COP body. Naturally I don't want to damage the intake so looking for good ideas.
I'll probably replace the insert with a Heli-Coil or something similar. BTW those threads are M5 x0.8 pitch.
