so ive been looking at a 351w roller motor. the casting is F4TE. what im wondering is if there would be any fitment problems for that motor in a 92 bronco with a efi302. will the oil pan for a 351 clear everything? will the efi upper clear the hood? the motor im looking at is a roller block for a foxbody mustang engine swap. will a motor bored .040 pass CA eissions? thanks.
if the pan is the single rear sump it will fit, i did this today, my 302 exhaust crossover pipe had to be cut in half and widened 2 1/2 in. i am not sure, but the cars had a different egr setup? r u using the car intake?, i think u can, u will need to hook the accelerator cables differently? my brackets for my ac alt ps etc all bolted right to the windsor, mine had three bolts that went right to the head, used front cover and water pump from the 302. got the distributor and upper intake for the windsor.
the dual sump would be too tight, better to get the truck pan for the windsor, also some stuff i ran into today when doing mine, the block is wider so inless u r good at welding get the crossover pipe. i widened mine but the pre cat hit the frame. i fabricated a y pipe goung from 2 to one 3 in that will hook into my 3in duals. i am pretty proud of it myself, it looks real professional, but try to get either headers or the crossover, also the 302 serpentine belt was 1-2 in too short, keep that in mind. junkyards are hard to find decent rustfree pans, i got lucky b/c the 351 in this body are rarer in the junk piles around here. maybe a after mkt pan? probaly be spending for it though, also make sure u get the oil pump for the truck motor/pan combo b/c the other one might hit the pan, at least mine did goig from the front sump to rear, not to sure amout the oil pickup, i have a few around and they looked similar, but the one for the truck i think reaches deeper?, dont hold me to it. all i know is whole laying under there tonight, i thought about this thread and clearance for the dual sump pan, and it was tight as it was all around.
