Does anyone have experience and pics of 7" headlight conversion to H4 or LED? I plan on driving the wheels off my truck once it is done and want good headlights.
I have read the truck-lite LEDs are some of the best on a budget (300ish) but I don't know if I will like the way they look on the truck.
The h4 Hellas look good but I have read they are really not a lot better than seal beams. I guess they were pretty much designed in the 70s for European market.
Hello, I have the Truck Lite LED's installed on my 68 f 100. They plug in easy and fit the stock locations no problem. They work great, how ever they do not have a classic look to them. They are flat ish on the ext. profile. They are made from some kind of poly/ lexan lens so they look different than traditional sealed beams. I used to not want to drive my truck at night but not any more! They really do work well. I would recommend them to any one who wants see better at night.
If you're truck doesn't have it, I would recommend a relay harness so that your headlights get power from the battery and not through the switch. It made a big difference in my '66

Your truck looks great with the lights! So some images online look like the lenses are smoke/tinted and some look clear. Your look tinted in the pics but that may just be lighting. My truck it a lighter color so I think a tinted lens would really stand out. Do they look tinted in person?

I am rewiring the truck and will probably do that also. It could be necessary if I run a high powers non-led headlight.
I like the idea of Hella housings with LED bulbs but have to see if I can fit them and worry about not being Dot approved since there are no leds approved for halogen replacements in the US. I guess the EU is ok with it though.
I like the Hella EU lens as they look like stock seal beams. I am running Hella 85/100 bulbs, not for everyone, don't use high beam if other cars are around, you need to set low beam so they are straight ahead or off to the right a little. They are on my 1971 F250, I'm in Southern, CA and have been running them for a year with no problem. I have a buddy in Northern, CA with the same setup & results.
If you live in a state that does vehicle inspection before Licensing not the way to go. I also installed a wiring harness and it helps a lot not running the full 12 volts through the headlight switch. It even helped my stock seal beams, just not what I was looking for.
