Hey there. New to this site, & forum. I have a 2006 f-150 XL 4.6l v-8. I am experiencing the lack of max a/c. The air flow changes from bi-level to norm no problem. But switch to max, no change in sound or force of air. Air flows from the vents fine as it should in norm setting. I'm wondering if this is a vacuum leak or the actual switch going bad? It cools but I've noticed at idle it will get warmer. Sometimes it even gets hot. But it eventually gets cold again. Sometimes it takes longer. It is a pain in my $#! Since I live in Texas on the coast. It gets warm here! Love my truck, but I am getting heated over this issue. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
The first video does not apply at all. The '06 F150 does not use vacuum in the HVAC system, it's all electric.
The second video does introduce the function that does not, in the problem first described, appear to work properly. Check the operation of the recirculate door to see if it's working or not.
The truck is 13 years old.. TIme to check the pressure of the LO and HI side compressor.. Setting in the driveway, engage the AC and look at the compressor..It should kick IN and then OFF... How long does it stay ON, and then OFF... Rev up the motor to 2000 RPM and run the test.. How long does it stay ON........
Im guessing the gas is a little low on R134 and that is your "cooling problem" . MAX AC just closes the outside air off with the Recirc door so you keep cooling the same inside air.... that might be an ADDITIONAL problem, but lack of cooling is possibly gas.
