I haven't done this upgrade yet but I did throw it in the box with all my other engine and other truck parts to do when I do my engine swap.
This is a composite float sold by BroncoGraveyard that has a brass shell where it attaches to the float arm but looks to have a solid piece of plastic embeded in the brass shell on one half. Mine when tapping sounds solid not hollow so I assume its solid. Im doing this upgrade to eliminate all future issues with floats sinking, seems like modern day brass floats you get now have a 4 or 5 year life span before they sink. Ive seen brand new ones at work sink not even a week after installation.
I did not. It is still in the box with the NOS sending unit I have. I hope to tackle it some time this year along with my engine swap. Just had so much going on the last half of last year I had to put everything on the back burner.
I think I've read that story, twice! Finally making progress on mine after a year, but I got a big nasty deadline in about 5 weeks.
Lol, yep. October 2018 I had to hold back after city got on me and I had to spend around $3000 to get them off my back. Made some progress after that then work slowed down this past winter and had to resort to damage control to pay on my $1800 AFR heads on my credit card bill.

Insurance give me a year to tear down the hovel I'm working on my truck under, repair some fascia, got some shingles blowed off. They even demanded I "remove all unlicensed and inoperable vehicles" or they'll drop the house policy. Deadline is in march.

Ouch that's worse then me. the city was just going to fine me $500 per vehicle that wasn't registered which would have been for four vehicles. Then after the second round of fines they would haul them off. I was going to just say let them try my registered truck is parked behind them but figured shooting them trying to steal my property over a stupid bs city ordinance probably would be very hard for me to beat so I just registered them all as antiques cost me a bit more than the fine but I am good for the next 3 years.
My buddy keeps trying to get me to get antique tags on mine, says they are going to a 40 year cut-off or something like that. I haven't priced antique tags, but I know I can get veteran tags for like $12.50, maybe $14.80 after taxes and fees? I just renewed mine on my truck for less than $3 so I got that going for me.
