FCA and Ram have made one thing clear... looks do matter, both exterior and interior. Capability is more about numeric bragging rights; in actual use, all the brands are pretty close in seat-of-the-pants feel. But when you get behind the wheel and one brand in particular feels like a truck while the other feels like a full-size sedan... you see why Ram is outselling Silverado this year. It used to be a random month here and there, which could be written off to cash on the hood those 4 weeks. But for 6 straight months - that's now a trend.

Ford is finding that out too.
While still outselling Ram by a very large margin, F Series sales are essentially flat, even just a tad lower in 2019 as compared to 2018.
Ram sales, on the other hand, are up 28% in 2019 versus 2018.
Turbo motors and cameras do not outsell super comfy seats and a smooth ride. Not with today's truck buyers.
Punching above your weight in interior quality does not hurt either. It's about time a $60,000 truck has an interior that is better than a $25,000 Camry.
Here is an interesting quote from a multi-franchise dealer here in Dallas/Fort Worth:
“I’ve had more people call me looking at Ram for the 12-inch infotainment screen or looking at GMC for the MultiPro tailgate," said Gilchrist, dealer operator of Gilchrist Automotive in Dallas-Fort Worth. "It’s the most I’ve seen people willing to jump from brand to brand and it’s for these unique features rather than the payload and towing ability.
Actually, the F Series pickup numbers are worse than they appear.
In Q2 of 2018, Ford had that fire in the supplier plant and lost a little over a week of inventory. So Q2 2018 was not a very robust quarter for F Series sales. And Ford did not even equal that reduced sales bogey in Q2 2019.
