Ham radio install
The sunglasses thing wasn't getting used, and it turned out that the KW head fit nicely in there with some slight trimming of the sunglass door.
The little damper thing that slows the door opening is apparently overwhelmed by the heavier head unit, so it sorta flops open, but other than that it works very well.
The mic is in the slider drawer compartment below the HVAC controls.
The audio is via a analog to digital USB stick which plugs in the same little drawer. Works very well so far. The left "side" of the KW comes out the left side of the stereo and the right audio through the right side of the stereo, so I can tell which audio Im hearing without looking at the head unit.

I mounted both head units on the metal bracket that was in the headrest. I stripped the foam, flipped it 180 degrees and it holds the head unit just fine.
It looks like your rig has a console.
I war-gamed the idea of mounting the head unit to one of those flexible extensions that attach to the front bolt of the passenger seat..
My radio is mounted in the vault under the center seat, propped open for ventillation 1" with foam bocks.
I chose a lip mount for the antenna, on the edge of the hood, in front of the driver.
Q: what is your antenna solution?
Thanks

The main unit is mounted via a bracket I made which replaces the wretched screw-jack behind the rear passenger seat. I carry a bottle jack instead which fits nicely under the rear seat. The bracket that holds the Kenwood main unit will also hold a remote CB eventually. When I ran the KW wiring I also ran a cat6 cable for the future CB remote. There seems to be plenty of air circulation thus far to cool the transmitter.
