does anyone know if I can swap a 1994 f250 7.3 manual transmission with a 2006 f250 6.2 automatic transmission. I believe it would be a ZF5 to a 5r110w.
The 5R110 is one complex MFer for shift timing. A bad 3-5 upshift and you will break the intermediate shaft. I am not even sure if there is a standalone for it, check PCS. All the even number shifts apply the OD clutch. Been a while since I messed with one.
What is wrong with the ZF? Why do you want the 5R anyway? Fuel economy?
A first gen 7.3 is just a noisy box on wheels that returns barely acceptable fuel economy. A big block version is cheaper to operate. A V10/5R110 is a badass tow machine for the money.
