Err, another vote for 'that would be a LOT of effort...'
Nothing's ever impossible, but putting a modern transmission in an old truck
like ours is going to require a pretty good knowledge of automotive computers.
And then, of course, there are the adaptors. Anything can be made, but very little is cheap.
If you seriously want the trans, the entire powertrain along with all the electronics would be the 'easiest' way to do it.
