Hey fellas, I've got an '83 F150 351W 2 bbl that's finally got me stumped. 4 months ago I put a reconditioned holley 2300 on it and it ran great, but wouldn't start when hot. The guy I bought the carb from suggested a phenolic spacer to cool the carb down on hot starts, so I put one on and the problems started. A slight miss on the driver's side at idle, it sounded like only 4 cylinders were firing when I put the C6 in gear and drove around.
So I put everything back the way it was, egr spacer, new gaskets, but it still runs the way it did with the phenolic spacer. I realize now that the phenolic spacer didn't cover the egr port, so i put the egr spacer back on, but now it still runs lousy.
A few friends have suggested a vacuum leak, but i've searched high and low to no avail.
Any suggestions?

I've blocked off the egr spacer where the valve is supposed to be installed. It misses slightly at idle, it misses really badly when it's in gear all through the rpm range.
Has the fuel filter and or fuel pump been replaced lately, is your timing correct and the distributor functioning correctly, whats the shape of your plugs? Could possibly cause those symptoms
