Frame width?

Does anyone know if the E150 frames are narrower than E250/350's?

Distance between the frame rails would be the same---because the bodies will fit on different GWV chassis that distance is critical.

The E250/350 are a bit taller in section height and web thickness. E450/550's are taller and thicker than the E250350's.

All are equal distances apart. Consult a Ford Body Builders manual for exact dimensions. Once upon a time they could be readily found and downloaded online--not sure if they're still available.

Thanks JWA. That does help. I am going to build a 38 Ford Coe and want to use a E frame, just needed to make sure of the width.

That'd be an interesting choice of frames---what leads you to an E-Series chassis if I can ask? A few who've done something similar used an F-Series.

Will your new COE be built to haul heavy loads or just be pretty?

Hopefully it will be pretty. LOL No heavy hauler. The steering is supposed to be easier with an E series.

Here's a very cool older hauler---not a COE but I think there are a few of those here on FTE too---if I ever find those posts I'll link them too.
