Good afternoon all I have a 08 F250 deleted ( I myself) about 2 years ago. Been running great until this morning. Drove it to work shut it off about 2 hours later came back and when I tried to crank it, the engine just turns over no start. When I bought it 2 1/2 years ago I had to have the high pressure oil pump changed so I wouldn’t think it was that. My question is where do I start looking for the problem
There are so many things that can go wrong you will need some kind of scanner or diagnostic aid to find it. The smart thing to do is get a OBDII usb reader and the FORSCAN ap for your computer and look at the data when cranking. Make sure your low pressure fuel pump is working, there is oil in crankcase, and a good battery. Do not use any ether or starting fluid. You're going to need to monitor high pressure fuel readings, low pressure fuel readings and all sensor to really be able to pin it down.
The best I can help with is to have you get a analyzer that can tell you if the high pressure fuel pump is commanded on and what fuel rail pressure you have during cranking. What percentage of volume control valve open, and other data. Without that you are just wasting your time.
FWIW, I doubt it would be clogged fuel filters since you weren't having any issues before the no start. It is possible the fuel pump has gone belly up and that can be checked at the pump on the frame. Drain your filter and see if there is any water in it. If so, then remove the secondary filter and look down into the filter housing. Do you see any water/rust?
This may sound like a dumb comment but what is your starting RPM? In another truck I had all proper signals, SCIM, FCIM (yes it was a 6.0) fuel proper pressure etc. but the rpms were too low to fire the truck.
How is your AC? Mine the compressor was failing and the pulley was dragging down the crank not allowing it to get to starting RPMs. No codes but I pulled the serpentine and could not turn the pulley by hand. Replaced and it started.
It was like chasing a ghost. But I learned a lot for a stupid issue. Good luck. It's a simple check. If your AC blows cold it's most likely not it.
