Oh No!

I am the previous owner of two F250 PSD's. One '99 and one '01.

I loved both of them. the later had a Hypertech III and pulled like a freigh train.

Today I traded for a new '03 with a 6.0...........

After spending a couple of hours reading thru this forum I'm thinking I need to return the truck 1st thing Monday morning with 10 miles more on the truck than it left the lot with.

Speak up......should I get my 7.3 back with 80k miles?

Thanks in advance for your input!

keep it, drive the ****(insert any four letter word that begins with 'f' here, such as "fuel") out of it, way more fun than a 7.3.

in my own humble opinion of course

Most 6.0 run good or have minor, easily fixable problems. A very few have really serious problems.

The real issue is telling which from which.

I you really, really depend on your truck and it absolutely, positively has to run first time, every time 100%, then an '03 6.0 might be a bit of a gamble for you.

Okay......

2.6 Stars so far......

If you have had problems let me know....If you love your truck let me know.

I"m gonna nip this decision in the bud Monday or Tuesday and live with it

Thanks for the opinions so far.

No problems with this truck at all picked it up in April and I wouldn't trade this truck for anything. It is really impressive when towing or just cruiseing around town.

Not trying to sway you any direction but I just made the same leap to a 6.0 also and I did look here first, One thing to remember is a unhappy or frustrated owner will be louder than 1000 happy owners, I for one am happy I made the leap and have had a few of the problems as the rest but they were corrected imeadiatly by my dealer and I have never looked back. As a closing thought I had one of the 7.3's when they first came out and I had many more problems with it than what people are having here. Not trying to take away from this site it is a great source of info but on other sites there are alot more happy owners with louder voices.
I LOVE MINE!

I had problems at first, but it has been running great and I 'm not unhappy with the 6.0. More Power, less noise in the cab, great transmission. Give it a chance. I didn't,and now I'm waiting on a new 04,but there is absolutely nothing wrong with my present truck Good Luck.

I'm going on 7000 miles. I absolutely love the truck. I have not had it back to the dealer yet. Rides and performs 10x better than my 7.3

I agree with everyone else. I traded (well, sold) my 02 7.3L and this truck is about as fast as my 7.3L with the Diablo Delta chip installed. This thing FLYS !

I just rolled over 8K miles and have had no problems. Two co-workers have purchased the same rig and they are not having any trouble either.

You are having the same experience I had back in June when I bought mine. It was in my garage a week before I found this forum, and believe me I know the horror you felt in your gut when you found it.

Yoson is right on the mark. The bad experiences will ring out like a bell but don’t believe they are the norm. A lot of people are very happy with their 6.0’s. If something happened to my truck I’d go buy another one just like it tomorrow.

Good luck with everything!

OK, got to add my two cents! I traded in my 7.3 on a new 6.0 and I love it (are we allowed to love trucks?). I had a Hypertech III, K&N and 4" ex on my 00' and this truck stock pulls as good as the modified 7.3. You don't need to second guess your decision. With the new torqueflite tranny that was enough for me, it's AWSOME! HAPPY TRUCKN'
