Keep the 6.0L and don't look backwards because all you will see are 7.3L attempting to keep up with you.

I'm haveing trouble with mine 6.0 PSD. The engine is "bucking", like its turnning itself on & off real quick. The ford dealer hasn't been able to solve the problem yet. They have replced just about ever sensor in the truck inculding the PCM with no luck. The wring has been checked as well. Anybody out there have any ideas? It's than '03,supercab/camper package.

Really sounds like a dealer issue.... ( or really a mechanic issue)
Either be FIRM with your svc mgr about getting it fixes this TIME OR Try another dealer... bring copies of your paperwork (which you should ALWAYS keep!) and it will be covered under warranty....

Our '03 6.0L 4x4 Ex has been GREAT !

But I do have ONE SLOWLY developing problem -
my wife is starting to drive it to work more and more and leaving me her '02 lincoln ls !!!

First it was - "I'm taking my team out to lunch"
then "I forgot to fill up my car honey"...
now it's just "Get over it" !!!

What am I to do ?!?

Keep the 6.0. I have just over 3000 on my 2003 F250 4x4. I am really impressed with it. Just one minor problem with a minor vibration at 1750 RPM

al125,

The bucking symptom could be caused by oil aeration. Oil aeration can cause fluctuations in the high pressure oil system that is the operating force in the fuel injection process. Your oil pressure gauge will not reveal this problem.

Oil aeration can be caused by using the wrong oil. Have you had your first oil change yet? If yes, what was the API specification of the oil? It can also be caused by contaminated oil. Is your oil level rising? Diesel contamination in these engines is not uncommon. Your dealers shop should have already checked these basic issues but you never know unless you ask. –Good luck and let us know what finally fixes it.

Debug- the first oil change was done by the dealer,on the house. The problem kept on & on & on. As of today I have stepped up the pressure on the dealer and I'm checking into the lemon law for Calif. Its been in the shop for 9 days now with end in sight.

Debug, the first oil change was done by the dealer at 4600 mile at the time i brought it in for the "bucking" problem. Its been there for 9 days now, the dealer has given me a rental car on them until they solve this problem and i am checking in Calif lemon law just in case.

all25,

Go to "What's The Best Oil For My 6.0" SD it is a bit long, 75 right now but it is extremely informative and well worth the time it takes to read it……and it is still going
