I'm deleting the EBPV from the pedestal (installing the blanked version from RR). Will i also need this? I think so - not looking for a light to come on.
I just got done doing this same thing on my early 99. I have no check engine light or any lights on the dash. It does set a soft code since you did unplug the connector from the old pedestal. Only way I discovered this is by plugging in my edge insight and checking for codes. So bascially, no, you don't need it unless you care about your truck having a code that can only be read by plugging in a scan tool.
