installing new rear springs from ATS and need some advice on how to proceed..
Removed drivers side stock spring and replaced with new spring (the passenger side stock spring is still connected.
The bolt holding the spring pack is not lining up with the required hole in the bump stop tang..
The bolts on the ends of the springs are just finger tight so far.
I am sure this is somehow related to the fact that these springs have alot more shape than the worn out stock springs.
I'm just not sure on how to proceed.
FYI - Springs may look thin because I have removed the overload on the bottrom.
I used a ratchet strap to put mine back together (actually a couple of them). Made it much easier than trying to fight that steel. Oh yeah,, and if the opposite side spring is already tightened down it'll be even harder.
Don't torque anything to final spec until the truck has been set down and moved a bit to settle it. This is noted in other similar threads. Good luck.
Make it easy on yourself and disconnect the drive shaft. That way you'll be able to move the rear end back and forth.. Your slip joint may need some lube.
with that setup I foresee it being lower then stock 24” hub to fender.
These new springs measure about 2" higher than what I removed, on the floor , loaded will be different . I plan on adding airbags
I am more concerned about axle wrap towing, before I get the funds for some kind of traction bar setup
Thoughts ?

Use the stock Excursion traction bar, it works well. Or just don’t accelerate from a stop at full throttle.
I used the front bumper winch to pull the rear axle forward a 1/2 inch to align that bolt and hole. That was without loosening the opposite side. Ratchet strap or come-along should work too.
Ok guys UPDATE..
I just did a measure of axle to axle on both sides and there is a 1.25" difference between sides..
Thankfully in the favor that I need 5/8" seems about what I need..
I'll post up pics when I decide on what version of springs to install - Thats another story / thread
