1984 engine swap.
I have a 1984 F-150 with a 302. I'm wondering if I can replace it with the 400 2v from a 1974 LTD? Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

I'd guess the 400 has different transmission bell housing bolt pattern than the 302, if you're just planning on reusing transmission? not sure on that.

Yeah, the 400 won't match up to your transmission.

The car engine also probably has a front sump oil pan. 1980-up trucks need engines with the rear sump pan or need the car engines with the front sump converted to rear sump.
