I'm trying to buy a used utility bed off of a 2005 f350, both trucks are super cabs. I have a f250. It's about. 3 hour drive, so I had the guy measure it from the bed to the axel. He said it was 59". Shouldn't it be around 57"?

Both are the extended cab model, with the half doors. Both are long beds. Was there a different wheel base other than long and short bed? It's a cal trans truck that has the utility bed.
If the truck was order as a SRW cab and chassis and up fitted with the utility body then there is a difference. The cab and chassis trucks have a straight frame vice having the hump over the rear axle. I know when I put a utility body on my 2000 F250 I learned that there is a difference even though they are both the same cab configuration and bed length.
I found a body with the correct cab to axle measurement. I would think depending on who makes the body you would be able to get the wheel well panels for the cab to axle distance that would work for your configuration. You would need to go the body's manufacturer website and see if the body will work for you.
