Well i learned my lesson. Engine block (so far) no cracks or very serve damage, just internal parts like my camshaft, oil pump shaft piston etc etc. Any idea to remove to remainder of the camshaft?
Take the plug out of the back of the block, remove the lifters and try to work the rest of the camshaft out the front. Use a broom handle. I'm assuming you have the engine out of the truck.
The only real way out is from the rear. The cam looks seized, the cam bearing is trashed and very little oil on any surface. What's the back story on this engine?
Once the crank/rods/pistons are out, you can reach up in the block and work the other half out. Unless the cam bearings are hurt. Remove rear plug and BFH it. If the cam bearings come out too, so be it.
Looking at your pictures, the block is still in the truck! Until you get it removed and into a tank for cleaning, finding cracks via MagnFlux really can't be accomplished properly! I've learned a lot about cracked blocks lately.......3 in a row!
Just out of curiosity, did you try to remove the cam with the lifters still in? If so, the lifters will not allow the cam to be removed. Just wondering because I see two lifters still hanging in your block.
