I have to renewal all cab mountings (front and back) on my 56. My question is, where are the factory mounting positions?
What are the correct dimensions?
There are two mounting points in the front corners of the cab and two in the rear. The rear mounts use "dogbones", a double-ended bar with rubber isolators on each end. The front mounts are circular rubber pads with a bolt that runs down through the floor of the cab near the door jamb. If you need mounts then you will more than likely find that the front pad mounting is rusted out and will also need replacement. Here is a photo showing the new front mount installed and painted:
Cab mounting kits can be bought at Midfifty or other F100 vendors.

Charlie, I saved your picture many moons ago to help me with my mounting plates when the time came but I have 2 questions on your pic. Did you weld the lower plates in or is that panel adhesive holding them in place and what about the stepped space between the lower plate and the cab floor, could it collapse if the bolts were over tightened or is there a spacer in that area to support it?
The plate is welded in place, the smooth coating on the seams is seam sealer. The gap is maintained by the length of the threads on the bolt...the shank of the bolt is long enough to bottom out before crushing the gap. I have always used SS bolts and nylok nuts as well so that I can tighten the mount so that it holds its place.
