I removed the wiper switch. Tried to get wipers going, but nothing. Removed the wires from the switch. Green ground red and black positive . Red turns wipers on continuous. Black males wipers stop at the same point every revolution.
Put the wiper arms and blades on. They moved and then nothing. Assisted the arms myself. Wipers worked a half revolution then nothing.
Took motor out. Hooked it up to a 6 volt battery. Just barely touching the arms, the motor stops. Let go, the motor runs.
Im thinking it’s a bad motor.
After some checking I see a lot of places have 12 volt motors no one has listed 6 volts for a 1953. They all stop at 52. One company offers to rebuild the 6 volt one I have for $189. There is a local shop that works on motors. I will try to stop there this weekend if they are open.
called two local shops. Neither work on the motor nor can they get replacements. I just bought an NOS on ebay. I hope it works. I hope it is the right one. I will let you know in a few days.

You could also use a 12 volt motor if you used one of these.
On the wiper motor, there are three wires: a red, a black, and a green. Red seems to be high power. Not sure what black and geeen are. I am assuming the motor is grounded by contact with metal on the truck
my switch has four connections labeled high, low, park, power.
What does park mean? Is that the same as off?
my parts manual does not mention wipers at all. I guess it is an accessory add on.
"Park" does just as the name implies. It returns the blades to the bottom of the windshield and then turns off the motor. If "Park" was the same as "Off" the blades would stop wherever in the middle of the windshield. So you have three leads on the wiper motor - High, Low, and Park. Case is grounded.
Wipers seem to be working . But I can’t figure out how to keep the wiper blade on the wiper arm. I have the old arms on my truck. Wiper blades are very loose and nothing seems to hold them in place. I have new wiper arms but again nothing seems to hold the blades onto the arms. Last picture is the old blade. It does not have any rubber on it. Can the rubber be replaced? I think I have the wrong blades for my arms
Edit: I just saw you have seen the dipped arm, and the correct bayonet blade.
You can slide the rubber into your blade, as long as they are the correct size.
In fact, they used to sell just the replacement blade "insert".
Your blades look like they are for the dipped or hooked arm.
You need blades that look like these MidFifty repops:
