Hello all. A couple months ago I got some help on here getting my 97 350 started. Turned out to be a bad IDM. Put the new one in and it started and ran good for a month or so. Started one day and it idled rough until I gave it some gas, then it smoothed out. Another time it cranked but would not start. I jiggled the wire harnesses and then it fired right up. After it was running, I found that if I just barely touched the power lead (green wire, pin 14?) right where it enters the connector the truck would just shut off but would start right back up. Over the next couple weeks it was mostly fine, a couple times it just cranked and I could get it going by playing with the wire. This weekend it shut off while driving and I couldn't get it going again. Towed it home and now figuring out what to do. I think I fried the IDM by having a short in the wire. I've done a lot of looking and so far cannot find any used harnesses, so my question, is there any way to repair the pin connection at the connector? I'm confident that the problem is at the power wire but inside the 26 pin connector and can't figure out how to fix it if I can't find a whole new harness. Ford doesn't sell it (would probably bankrupt me if they did).
The picture below isn't from my truck, just found it online, but it shows the connector I'm talking about and the green wire which seems to be the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I have 3 obs ford harnesses, the only issue is that they are not complete... all 3 have good idm connectors though. Ill check to make sure when I get home

Wow, that would be awesome. Complete isn't necessary, I just need the connector and splice away. Sold!
Ok, so now i'm really stumped. I removed the PCM connector, IDM connector, and the square 42 pin connector to inspect wires, didn't find anything wrong. I put everything back together and went to crank, and nothing. No radio, HVAC, headlights, nothing. It was like the batteries were completely dead, but they check out fine. I even jumped the ignition relay and engine cranked just fine. Checked all fuses, none blown. What could have happened? Is there a fusible link I don't know about that could have shorted? This is going downhill fast, and I'm starting to feel completely defeated.
Alright, I got the power back to the cab, and I'm back to a crank no start condition. I did buzz test, no issues. DTC's that came up were P0472, P1754, P1705, none appear to be relevant to the no-start, but maybe I'm wrong.
I checked all IDM pins according to the guides, all 3 tests checked out normal. I'm leaning towards another IDM, but if that's the case I don't know why this one only lasted a couple months.
