I'm cleaning up 25 years of "Farm Engineering" on my recently acquired '93 F250 7.3. Among other offenses, a previous owner cut off the clutch switch connector (a replacement is $37!) instead of just jumpering the two wires like everyone else. Then he ran a wire directly from the hot-in-start lead through a bare hole in the firewall, untaped a foot of harness, and spliced it to the Red/Light Blue wire to the start relay near the big bulkhead connector. In a further idiocy, he seems to have removed the other end of that R/LB wire so I can't just reconnect it. Or at least I can't find it
The wiring diagram shows that the start wire passes through connector C103. I thought it'd be easy to find a cut-off stump of a particular color-coded wire, but no joy so far. Does anyone know which connector it should be and is it a single-pin?
More generally, is there an underhood diagram that shows the location of all the connectors for my '93 IDI? I haven't been able to find one. Thanks for any help.
Found the other end of the wire, finally... I disconnected the big bulkhead connector and cleaned off enough grease/grime from the wires so that I could see the colors! Sure enough, it was cut off and stuffed back inside the harness.
Anyway, the start interlock is now working as Ford intended
