Have a question on the 63 ford step plate and parts. I have seen in the past where you could buy the step plate along with the brace for underneath the step. Went to order the running board step plate and could not find the brace. Thought there was 4 parts, running board step, the brace,the rocker and the kick plate. Looked thru LMC, BOTP, NPD,MACS and Mid Fifty catalogs. Could not find the step brace. My brace is not good. Where do I look for one at and what do you use or make for a your brace. Thanks again Everyone.
Reviving this thread. These parts are available from Dennis Carpenter.
But beware, the step plate doesn’t exactly fit the contour of the well. Obviously, it’s just a bit more fab work to get it to fit right.
The black part was a bit thin and because of the offset at the ends, there was a small gap when the two pieces were assembled. I decided to fill that gap and reinforce the step with a piece of 16ga.
I’ll add a few more pics tomorrow when I get a bit further along.
