292 dual exhaust conversion

What size pipes should I use when converting my 1964 f100 292 pipes to dual exhaust? Took off crossover pipe and installed ram horn headers.

2" pipes are plenty, maybe 2.5"? Assuming engine is stock or stockish? You'll love the sound. Don't go too big on the pipes, that is a common mistake.

2" is more than adequate for most applications and is about the largest that will fit right at the manifold. Anything larger would require a tapered pipe or pipe adapter.

Thinking of doing the same in my 64. Curious if I would need to get the pipes fabricated or are there pre bent tubes somewhere?

The pipes will need to be made. Any exhaust shop should be able to handle it. Just make sure to get flanges because the shops will not have those. FORD Y or speedway motors manufacture rams horns and may have flanges for sale.

That is correct, don't forget the flanges or save your old ones. I got it done, 2" all the way. Sounds good. Custom shop will have to do it.

Thanks, it's what I figured would be the case, but it's always a shot to ask
