If you chose to split the exhaust under the truck right after the down pipe making it a dual exhaust...
what size dual tubing would be best??? I was thinking that if you had dual 3" that would equal out to a 6" single pipe but I'm sure there's more to it than that.
Only reason is if I get rid of my stacks I want to to run dual exhaust but the 4" and bigger splitters are really spendy and a 3" is cheap.
It would take 4 3" pipes to equal the volume moved by one 6" pipe.
The area of a 3" pipe is approximately 7.065 sq. in.
The area of a 6" pipe is approximately 28.26 sq. in.
The area of a 4" pipe is approximately 12.56 sq. in.
So that being said if you have two 3" pipes that would be a bit more area than a 4" pipe so two 3" pipes will be fine. Or split it with a 3" then enlarge it to 4"
