I was wondering if someone here could help me. 6 months ago I got the new morimoto LED headlights for my 2018 F150 and just yesterday I noticed that I had a small crack in one of them. Probably caused by a rock chip on the highway.
What can I use to get this repaired? I watched some youtube videos people sanding them down and applying clear coat on it but I'm not sure I want to be douing that to these. The Front plastic is not that thick at all. Any other recommendations?
That looks like it got cracked all the way through? I would contact Morimoto to see if there is a way to replace the lense.
Yes. It looks like its a single lense. However I can only feel the crack where the impact happened. I called retro fit source (where I got the headlights from) and they said the whole headlight would have to be replaced. I dont want to spend $800 on a single headlight and not to mention that they are on a 3 month backorder.

I think I am going to wrap these and see how it turns out. $60 versus $800 sounds like it's worth a shot
Wrap them with what? You could try to flood the crack with acetone, which will slightly melt the plastic. It may be difficult to get the clarity back though.

Well that sucks.
I know you don’t want to hear this but you’d be better off buying a new one.

I wonder if that Clear Gorilla glue would help?
Or one of the windshield repair kits?
I could definetley put some super glue or that stuff that you repair the windshield with. The impact zone is very small and the craks that are visible are not on the outside.
So, how do you like those headlights? Beam pattern, depth and width of the field of light, high beams etc.
There is a set for sale here locally for $1k. He’s had them listed for awhile and might take a couple hundred less. I believe you’re the first on our board with them.

I like them a lot. They are so much brighter then the OEM junk that came with my truck. You can adjust the beam height and width for both high and low beams. These are very bright where sometimes it blinds the incoming traffic on one way highways. However the durability sucks *** as you can tell. I was only going 35 mp/h when I struck a small rock chip. Also their Support sucks *** as well. If these were to stop working for whatever reason and you needed them replaced by warranty you would end up waiting 6 months or longer. And if you sold your OEM headlights you will be without your baby for a while. Morimoto cannot keep up with the demand for these.
