I keep a couple of bungie cord(s) for this,
I just loop the bunnies through the 2nd row head rests (I have 2nd row captain chairs)
to keep the 3rd row seat "up" against the back of the 2nd row.
OR, I fold down the 2nd row, and flip the 3rd row on-top of the folded down 2nd row to put even more stuff inside.
Lastly, when needed, I remove the 3rd row to fill up the "bus" with cargo.
The expedition up to 2002 and navigator up to 2002 have the 3rd row seats with the same mounting brackets. I purchased a Navigator 3rd row seat from the junkyard to use while I was adding headrests to the 3rd row seat of my Excursion. As mentioned in another thread up top, the back part of the seat is not as tall in the navigator or expedition.
Back to the bracket...…...while I was getting the seat out of the Navigator I also got the bracket to hold the seat. You also require the bar from the seat so you can clip it into the bracket - the picture in post #3 shows the bar that is needed. Its the one that has the U-bend in it.
Unfortunately I have not spent any time trying looking into installing the mounting bracket.
The part number on the plastic piece is yl14-7861382-aa. I didn't have time this morning to take it apart to see if the bracket itself has a part number but it does show 0070A on the bottom of it. When I get home later today I will take it apart and see if it has a part number on the other side.
