Hope this forum section is the place for this post. I drive a 94 E-150 and in the summer with the AC on, the under hood temps are hellish to say the least and we all remember E-450 ambulance under hood fires. Do you know of an effective venting scheme that a DIY guy could perform? Since most anything I can think of involves cutting body parts I don't want to experiment but rather follow a proven solution.

 

IMHO, thinking back.....I think if you created some vent intakes at the lower part of the bumper directing the flow of air up you would be in good shape

 

Might possibly help but the trick will be getting that newly trapped air out. Reading is pointing me toward hood ducts at this point.

 

Yes, that is what they did/do with the ambulances during that generation....IIRR, there were about 6 louvers on each side of the hood.....about double the size of the ones in this pic.
