429 4spd

I have a 1979 F-250 with a 4spd and an I6. I have a 429cj to put in it. Does anyone else have the same setup and how did you do it. I know a true 429 bellhousing will work, but I can't find one. I also know I can use a 351m/400 bellhousing with a 1/2" spacer. Thanks for any information.

The bellhousing off a 460 will work & you shouldn't need any shims.

Ford didn't mate the 460 with a straight drive until 1980 and they were all hydrolic. Pre-1980 460 motors were mated with automatics.

What tranny do you have? There are 2 different 435's and a couple of different T-18's. The difference in the 435's is the length of the input shaft. Using a spacer depends on which input shaft you have. My 429 dropped right in where a 400 was.
