I have a '69 F100 with a fresh 302 and Hooker Long Tube Headers. I have lowered the front with DJM beams. I am looking for a sway bar for the front. Anyone have a source for one that will fit my truck, with these modifications?
Fleetwood271 i have a Addco sway bar on my 67 f-100 2 wheel drive i got it from Summitt Racing. it is a one inch bar that is powder coated black. i am also running Dream Beams. for headers i am using some stock Mustang GT shorty,s. in order for you to use this bar. you have to weld the brackets onto the beams. for a rear bar i have a stock rear sway bar off a 1988 Ford Bronco II.it is a direct bolt on. i had to drill out 2 holes to mount it to the frame. i drilled the holes because i did not want to use the metric bolts that came with the bar. UltraRanger has used a rear sway bar from a full size Bronco on his f-100. i used the Bronco II because all of the full size ones, someone had already removed them before i got to the junkyard.the Summitt part # is ACO-K1-113. the price is $184.66. since it,s over $ 99.00 it will be free shipping. hope that this will help you out.

Thank You for the info. I found that same bar on Summit last night, but did not know I'd have to weld brackets on to make it work. Thanks Again!!
Fleetwood271 i guess that you could drill holes and bolt it on. but i think that welding it would be stronger. just be sure to grind all of the powder coating off and make sure your ground clamp is making good contact.
I also found this Hellwig front sway bar, which according to the info on Summit and on another forum, will fit the '69 F100. It is supposed to work even with long tube headers, because it is the front mount type.
It does not require any drilling, as it is a bolt-on application. There is a review on Summit that says the u-bolts sent with it will not work with DJM beams, as they are wider than stock. He had to buy wider u-bolts.
The price is quite a lot higher than the Addco brand.
I've had Helwig front and rear sway bars on my '68 CS since '72 with the standard axle and I can't say enough about them. Before I installed them the fastest speed I could safely go on a windy desert day was 35 mph. This was with an overhead camper. After installing the sway bars I could go the speed limit safely.
Hello Fleetwood.
I installed the Hellwig front anti sway bar on my 68 two wheel drive short bed with stock ford front end. Install was easy and I had to drill 2 new holes in the bottom of the front frame. Two existing holes lined up perfect and helped align things. The u bolts where a bit fussy to get set just right but stayed put once set. The improvement to the front end stability is great. Can't imagine running without one any more. Dollar for dollar it was one of the simplest up grades I have done. It's served me well for going on 6 years. I Cant however speak for how it all works with the drop beams. Hope this helps you some. Thx, JIM...

lilorbie,
Do you have any photos of the Bronco II rear sway bar set-up on your truck? I saw two in the JY this last week. _ Tony.
LACzar Sorry but i don,t have any pictures. Since my Dad passed away awhile back, i just don,t feel like doing any thing to my truck. maybe someday i will get back on it.

An OE setup from a Dentside works fine and is low-buck to boot...Don't mind the Hotchkis decal... it's there for the unknowing.
The toughest part will be pulling the C-brackets that bolt around the I-beam and radius arm connection. Luckily for me there was an 80s Econoline nearby whose front end was partially disassembled already.
