I damage my rear bumper, so I am thinking about an aftermarket replacement. I would like steps on the bumper, but the smitty built lead time is now 10-12 weeks. Do you guys have any pictures? Any other bumper you looked at?
Thanks, Jim
It seems like everybody's lead time is waaaaay out there right now. I had 4 bumpers on order from Road Armor, 2 of which arrived after 8 weeks, but we are now passed 11 weeks and I haven't heard anything on the other 2, even though I emailed them and they said it was "in process" several weeks ago already. When I emailed them they said their lead time was at 8 to 10 weeks so take that for what it's worth.
I had a Ranch Hand rear bumper on order for my '21 F350 and after 10 weeks cancelled the order after they wouldn't return any of my emails. Not impressed with them at all and don't know that I'll be looking to buy any more from them, between the customer service and the horrendous powdercoat job they do.
I saw a bunch of guys on here with Steel Craft bumpers. I looked at a bunch of them and people seemed to be very happy with the quality. Then found that Amazon had them in stock. So in 3 days I got a Steel Craft rear bumper, and I couldn't even get a Ranch Hand in 3 months. I haven't installed it yet, but initial impressions are good. Welds look ok. Thing is heavy. The instructions look pretty good, including pictures. Doesn't have a step, but for $550 shipped to my house I cannot complain one bit.

Here's what the model I bought looks like.
I rolled into a 3 inch diameter tree at about 4 mph and crushed the stock bumper on my 20 f250, very ****ty bumper. I found a Ranch Hand Bumper part bbf171blss
that I just received. It looks very similar to what you have, I wonder if they're the same company? I'm a little concerned about the powercoat after what you said about Ranch Hand finish. The Ranch Hand finish looks a little different.
I see you're in New York. The powdercoat will show rust after the first winter. I don't know if the problem is Ranch Hand's prep or the powdercoat itself. It does not survive salt at all. I had a Ranch Hand on my '14 that showed rust after the 1st winter on all of the welds and the expanded metal in the grille. The Ranch Hand I put on my '21 came off of a 2020 truck that only saw 1 winter, and same story. I had it blasted and line-x'd before I installed it on my '21. If I were you, I would definitely consider doing the same.
The bumpers do look extremely similar, and I noted that when I saw the Steel Craft. I'm sure it's just a design copy. The Steel Craft does have 2 very small openings just outboard of the drop step in the middle where you can mount lights, which I am a fan of for loading trailers at night.
GNR22, thanks for the info. It's too late as I already bought the bumper. Your line-x idea sounds like a good idea.
I'm going to look into it before I install the bumper.
