Some have been posting that people are being told they can no longer find V-10's from Ford. Maybe they are getting this due to the new V-8 replacement for the V-10. I thought Fred Jones co. was rebuilding the V-10 for Ford. I am thinking the V-10 will be available for many years as there are so many in use. What say you?
this is the last year for the 3v v10. the new 7.3L v8 is replacing the v10 for 2020 3/4 ton and up vehicles. with the 2020 models coming out in sept it wouldn't surprise me if ford stopped production early
Even if they do pull the V10 from the line up, chances are high that they will support the V10 for at least the next five to ten years. AFTER THAT TIME PERIOD, the supply lines will probably dry up. That is a LONG time from now.
I just picked up a 2016 V10 2v that came out of a wrecked (rolled) E450 Class C motor home with 4300 miles on it. I'm swapping it into my 05 Excursion that has a V10 in it.
There are a LOT of engines out there, both new and reman... I doubt Ford will just ditch that thriving business until they build up the new 7.3L V8 support and service and cross their fingers that the NEW 7.3L will find the same following as the old 7.3L diesel. Time will tell us that tale in the coming years.
HOPEFULLY it's not a badly designed V8. That would be problematic.

I agree. Back in 1979 I put a Motorcraft Reman from Ford in my 1966 f150, and drove it across country on a family vacation. I doubt they will dump the v10 anytime soon. You can still get Windsor crate motors, and some 385 series engines from Ford Racing. The bottom end of the Triton emgines are tough side oilers, they'll be around awhile. The 7.3 is a side oiler also.

I believe AER is the exclusive remanufacturer for Ford.

Yes
And very easy to work with. I called their denver distribution center and they could not sell me a motor but gave me the name of a dealer within 100 miles that would sell one to me for 20% off retail.

When I bought my reman'd 5.4 from a local dealer it was ordered through Holman Parts Distribution: https://www.holmanparts.com---they're not the actual remanufacturing outfit but do seem to be a large operation. Before learning about them I assumed Ford did their own reman'ing and delivery to dealers etc.
BTW their site has a lot of links and info via .PDF's that might prove helpful or interesting to those of us with V10 or V8 Modular Motors especially if you're doing an installation and want to keep the warranty intact.
Ford Service Department refuse to do an Engine swap on my 2002 Excursion. Manager said they could not get crate motors for my SUV. So far, Jasper is doing a standard crate motor for me. Lead time 3 weeks. https://www.jasperengines.com/crate-engines
Have a fine day and a better tomorrow,
Jack
