I changed to a Clifford C type intake. I had a DP on before. I use a 48" Lokar throttle cable, but if I install the my Holley so the primaries are toward the radiator, as is the traditionally accepted orientation, I have to wrap my cable 360* around the carb so the throttle is pulled toward the firewall. That routing obstructs the air cleaner and the cable sticks. I'd love to get some photos of what others have done with their throttles.
I can try to get a better picture later, but this was my setup for a bit.
Just ran it straight to the bracket and to the throttle. The return spring isn't installed, but it hooks onto the small hole that's below the throttle cable on the bracket. Very simple and short setup.
This is my setup i had the longest lokar throttle cable too after i changed to the c series the cable would always bind up. My brother in law and I finally cut the cabe and it looks way cleaner. Im happy with the outcome and its mount to one of those fancy throttle brackets.

Wow! Super nice, clean set-up! I like it, especially the air filter, the DUI, and the braided fuel line. They all add up to make an excellent looking engine! Can you please get a close up of the connection to the throttle bracket on the carb, and the connection from the pedal? Thanks.

AB, THAT is a thing of beauty. I love the ominous look of the throttle body injection on the black manifold. What I was hoping to see was how the cable came from the pedal connection and the routing to the throttle body. Thanks.

Thanks man! I appreciate the kind words. Yeah I'll see if I cant snap a couple pictures tomorrow and post them for ya.

Thank you! I paid extra for the black, and I'm glad that I did.
As for where the cable connection at the body, I don't know if I can help you there, as I'm sure my firewall is quite a bit different than yours.

I was hoping to simply see how the cable is routed. I'm used to having a 48" cable. If I were to cut the cable, I needed to know or see how it goes from pedal to up and over the valve cover, and to the throttle on the carb.
Nothing fancy. It just exits the cab, hooks around behind the valve cover, and connects to the carb.
It's a little hard to see in these pics, but you can see the black cable going around the valve cover in the back.
Thanks, Fordboy. That's a very good looking engine. Nice work. Do I cut the cable like other braided line, using tape on proposed cut, and cut? I guess I'd separate the inside cable from the housing first.

Yes, my brother in law told me to separate the the actual throttle cable from the braided line housing. We measure twice or maybe like 5 times and cut once! He has a better eye and technique at doing that kind of stuff then I do. He made it look great.
That's what I did on mine. Pulled the cable out of the sheath, then wrapped it in tape and cut it with a dremel wheel to length, and then put the cable back in.
I just redid my throttle cable yesterday, It works a lot better than it did before too. I just used a cable from a 2000 F150 parts truck that we have sitting. I had to make a bunch of brackets, but that's fun to me. I'll go out and snap some pics of my set up if I can remember to lol.

AB: Once you cut the sheath, I notice with mine there is a stainless piece at the end of the sheath at the carb end. Does that simply pull off and get reinserted at the cut end? Please explain.
