Brake Switch

I have a 2019 f350 lariat with 6.7. This past weekend I struggled to get the shifter out of park. Cycled the ignition a few times, pumped the brake a few times and it finally shifted out of park and has worked perfect since that occurrence.

Anyone else had this happen? I would assume it's the brake pedal sensor that releases the shifter

Is it possible that your wheels were turned a bit? On a hill? The steering wheel lock could have been adding pressure to the shifter. A slight turn left or right would remove the pressure and allow you to shift from park.

Yea I was turning the steering wheel and pumping brakes but it took a few minutes to get out of park.

Keyless ignition? Could be the "police mode" I've read is factory enabled in 2019. The truck may not detect the key and prevents it from shifting out of park.
