Any other 2003 Expy owners with the 2hi, A4wd, 4h, and 4L settings?

If so does your front drive shaft spin while in 2wd? I am trying to figure out if its normal or not because mine always spins but the 4wd system works fine besides that.

Likely a problem with the iwe system, if there is a vacuum leak, they won’t disengage in 2wd and then the front driveline will all be spinning all the time.

The front driveshaft should not spin in the 2H position.

But what would cause it to spin? The wheel hubs are unlocked and the truck is running in 2wd, The only thing it can be is the electromagnet BUT even if you lock the hubs by taking away the vacuum off the wheels they do NOT spin unless you switch the selector to A4wd, 4H, or 4L.

So, let me see if I’m following you correctly.
You put it in 2H, but take away the vacuum to lock in the front hubs, put it in gear, and the front driveshaft has power, but the front hubs don’t?

Maybe the front driveshaft is turning, but doesn’t have any power applied to it?

I mean, if the front hubs are locked in, and the driveshaft rotates, then the front hubs have to rotate.

Has the transfer case fluid ever been changed?
Maybe someone put gear oil in it?
