Gauge cluster problem

So I pulled the gauge cluster out of my 97 7.3 5 speed to put LED bulbs in it, when I turn the key to on the tach jumps up to 1k, my fuel oil and gas gauge do not work. But my battery gauge does work. What in the hell is going on?

No it didnt. But i think that I just need to move the needles to where I want them to sit. Am I wrong? Cuz the fuel gauge always shows fuel whether it's got power or not if I remember right

Sounds like a ground issue. Check the connectors and both ground points under the side kick panels.
