Okay here goes. I have a 1999 F350 Diesel driving down the road yesterday all of a sudden it is like it went in neutral, pulled over put it in drive and reverse and nothing. When I tried to put it in park it sounded like there was something still spinning like a manual then tried to lock it in four wheel drive and still nothing. Had to have it towed home. I think it is a 4R100 thought about pulling the trigger and buying a new trans.
trigger and buying a new one from Monster Transmissions
DId you already pull it out? I doubt there is anything wrong with the trans. The grinding when you put it in park shows me that the transfer case failed.
Oh Sh&T I did not know this WOW. We called several people that supposedly knew Transmissions. So yes I did OUCH" Thought about buying from Monster Transmissions. Sounds like I should be looking at the Transfer case. I am going out there real soon and will check the Transfer thanks for your help. So what do you think about Monster ??
Turns out you are right Mark Kovalsky there is nothing wrong with the transmission. I believe the Transfer Case is what's wrong and do I feel stupid for pulling the Transmission wish I would have let it be. Now my friend says it is a good thing we pulled it because the up pipes are easy to get to now. So I ordered them through Amazon and paid $65.00 not impressed , they just don’t fit made in China or I am not installing them right. The Drivers seem to long & where the bends are suppose to be they seem wrong. I think I am dealing with a quality issue here. Do I need to order from RiffRaff? And should I be ordering parts for a EARLY 1999 seeing how my door tag says 02/98 ?
