Mixed emotions

My wife & daughter are going camping this weekend with the girl scouts. They are leaving @3:30 today and won't be back until late on Sunday. It should be a very relaxing weekend, just me and Boo the wonder dog and not a care in the world.
But then I remembered she is taking my truck to haul the gear for the whole troop. The thought of my wife driving my truck down dirt & gravel roads thru the woods is enough to make me take up drinking again. I told her that if she did any damage then I get to trade up to F150.
I don't know whether to be happy about the peacefull weekend or sit around & worry about my truck.

Always make the best of the situation. Don't worry about the truck, it's not good for you. Think of all your options. You could go hunting or fishing every day, all day and not worry about being getting in trouble because you weren't back in time for dinner. Or, you could have the guys over, drink adult beverages of your choice, play poker, smoke stogies, etc. Or, just be a slug and lay on the couch in your underwear and watch football. The possibilities are endless! You are in control of your own destiny.

Actually I will probably spend the whole weekend in the garage/workshop making doors for the kitchen cabinets that I made last weekend. But at least nobody will be bothering me.

well...until you said you were going to work on cabnet doors...i was right there with you. I understand though...what a toss up...your wife driving for your "free" weekend. I'd enjoy it and do the cabnet doors later (they will always be there right?).

It seems like a win/win. If she damages the truck, you get a new F150, if it comes back intact, all's well that ends well.

If I were you I'd sneak out the night before and put a big scratch on the truck and then cover it with mud so no one would notice. Spend the weekend crusing all the Ford dealers looking for the F150 of your dreams.

When she comes back volunteer to wash the truck, "discover" the big scratch and run, don't walk to the dealer of your choice and sign on the dotted line. They will have the paperwork waiting for you.

You could always spend the weekend at the Big Guys Tavern! Lordy, it's so much fun picking on Weedsport!

The wife drove my truck the day we bought it...and that was the last time! Listening to the drive train rattle between gears, riding the clutch, shifting too soon ( ping ping pingety ping). Next new vehicle is hers and she wants a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Blah.

I would be glad my wife was giving the truck the life it deserved and then I would load the back with some firewood for the camp fire> Maybe some nice dry birch for getting it going :-)
