Memorial Weekend Plans?

Saturday work from 5:30am-1:00pm
Sunday work from 7:00am-5:00 pm
Monday work from 7:00am- whenever

I think it is supposed to rain here most of the weekend anyway. So I might as well earn some big bucks.

Memorial Weekend Plans?

Well, I was going to go boating on the Potomac, but then it started raining on Wednesday, and is not supposed to let up for ten days!!!

At least I hadn't planned to go camping or to the beach or anything like that. I predict a lot of people will be heading to the Blockbuster this weekend ...

Memorial Weekend Plans?

I'll be staying in my house as this is what my town has to deal with: Officers set to police Bikefest. The sad thing is, this isn't even a Myrtle Beach event. It's the ATLANTIC BEACH BikeFest yet we have to put up with all their BS every year.

I'm sorry but you guys should be ashamed of yourselves. So far, none of you said anything about doing anything related to Memorial Day and what it stands for...... As for me, I'm going to get my M151 out of storage and drive it to the county cemetary and help with the services honoring those who gave all for us. I'm not a vet but my father is and I feel like that is the least I can do. He and I have been doing this for many years and will for as long as I am able. We help with the flag service and the live fire salutes. I will be carrying my Colt AR15 SP1 (civilian version of the VietNam era M16) and dad will be carrying his M1 garand that he served with in WW2. He will be driving his restored GPW. Maybe we should all take a moment to commemorate what the day stands for.

I'm going to Appamattox Courthouse and Battlefield in Virginia tomorrow to remember the Confederate Soldiers who stood up and fought for what they believed was right, 143 years ago. The partyin' comes later.

Had the MUTT for several years. I have another that needs restored. Both run good.

I would like to go to those historic battlegrounds for Memorial Day. All my ancestors fought for states rights, some paid a big price. Still got a little rebel in my blood (sometimes a lot of rebel). Our nearest Confederate Battle ground is Prairie Grove over on the Arkansas-Oklahoma state line about 375 miles east of me. Had a GGgrandpa in that battle. He wore Grey.
